Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My roles included being a finance business partner and keeping an eye on forecasts vs actuals, whilst also providing appropriate financial support.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, during my time in role I was the lead for marketing spend and overheads within my teams and was the main point of contact, they role definitely felt like a full role.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
During my time in role I’ve heavily developed my excel skills, I’ve also began to understand financial master data. In terms of soft skills I’ve been able to develop my presentation skills which have also boosted my confidence in speaking and also been able to develop in the area of upskilling and training stakeholders.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Both my line managers were great in terms of mentoring and providing support throughout my time in role. I was always told where I could improve and both my managers were transparent with my development and helped me in becoming a better overall worker aiding my development.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company is very welcoming and everyone is very nice in office. When it came to my stakeholders in role they were very good to deal with and outside of work we used to socialise as a team.

There is no need to be stressed when entering the role as training here is very supportive and at first the company is very understanding of the fact that most of the time it is the first introduction into the financial career world.
