Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Smart meter exchange, gas and electric. Academy based learning and on the job field training. Fast paced really interesting apprenticeship so far, absolutely love the British gas diversity and inclusion culture. Have been able to learn in the classroom as well as practical whatever your learning style, they have it covered. Highly recommend this,' apprenticeship, especially to other ladies out there who like me, may not have considered engineering as a career.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've enjoyed it loads so far, from meeting my new classmates, working with colleagues in the field, to meeting our customers on patch.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

You get to learn all about gas metering and electricity, you gain some fantastic qualifications such as gas ACS and electric meter Mocopa.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure of going between class learning and simulated practical at the academy to field base real life learning in customers houses is an excellent blended way of learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support from the academy trainers, your managers and colleagues is really good, always someone to turn to, whatever is on your mind. However, they could do with more mentors in order to improve the apprentices field learning experience because altho engineers are always available and on hand to support you, a dedicated mentor elevates the apprentices experience.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Top supports for trainers, in my experience every trainer regardless of them maybe teaching another class will always answer your questions and he'll and support you.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualifications ACS and Mocopa are industry standard and top class.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I would think so but I haven't got involved in any at the moment.
