I am a trainee site manager so work closely with the sub contractors on site and making sure they are organised and don't clash with other trades.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I so very much enjoy my program. All of my team on site and at university are very supportive and are always around to help. I won't lie it is a big change from going to school into a full time job but its so worth it.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learn something new every day how ever I feel as though my communication skills and team work have massively improved due to working with my colleagues and sub contractors
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course is very well organised with regular meeting with the Emerging talent team and University support to to make sure we are fully updated and caught up with the next steps.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot! there us a designated section in our portal just to help new starters. My line manager is also very supportive and always reminds me that hes here to help but you do need to be the one to reach out as well and as for when you need support on more specific things which is not a criticism
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot from other students on my course and also the sheffiled hallam team. we have regular catch ups with my uni mentor and line manager to make sure im on the right track and just to keep everyone updated.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe that the subjects at uni are quite broad they aren't as specific as i thought they would be. for example my current assignment is on how to create a project plan even though that has nothing to do with my current role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am currently helping plan a charity event with other ET members. I'm working closely with Emma Dean who is out social value lead to help support memebers of the community around out construction site for example the local nurcery and a mens mental health charity.
