Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As a statistician within the Global Supply Chain we provide statistical analysis to support products that are manufactured. This includes providing a sample size for testing, or looking to see if a product is in statistical control.

Yes I have been responsible for many projects

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed many new skills, especially communication and presentation skills. The statistical analysis is used by non-statistician so it is very important this communicated well so they can understand what is being done.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture at GSK is very friendly, as a placement student you are not expected to know everything and they encourage us to ask questions. The other team member are all more than happy to explain a topic or go through the work to make sure you understand what you need to do.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have enjoyed my placement a lot, as the restrictions have eased there were a lot of social activities that are taken place with other students and team members
