Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am the assistant Manager at a Managed house. The general manager is on maternity leave at present, so I have been doing both roles combined, with input from the holding Manager. Typically the role includes the day to day running of the pub, ensuring that the business is safe and legal.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the programme greatly. There are so many things that I never knew before starting. Each module has been challenging and interesting. This has been amplified by having a trainer that is accessible, knowledgeable and approachable.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

In the past 6 months, I have learnt a tremendous amount about running a business. Having come from just being a team leader to doing everything from scheduling, ordering, auditing, sales planning and leading a team of staff members. It has been a challenging experience but the knowledge that I have gained is invaluable.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure of the programme is brilliant. Everything is set out in a logical order, in easy learning sections. By completing each section in order, it sets the scene for the next subject that needs to learned. Modules are short enough to learn what you need to workout taking too much time to complete.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been supportive throughout. They have always been there to help explain concepts that I found a little more tricky to understand. They have also been a great source of inspiration and encouragement.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider has been excellent throughout the programme. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is always available to answer any questions, encourage when needed and be our biggest cheerleader when we succeed. He is an absolute asset to the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification has helped me in my everyday role an enormous amount. It has shown me the bigger picture of why certain things are done and what is needed for the successful running of the business. It has given me a bigger scope of tools to draw from to enable me to think more out of the box to achieve my goals.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Although we have sports teams affiliated with the business, I do not get involved with them.
