I am a financial analyst focusing on our banking systems and third party sales commissions systems. I audit and produce monthly invoices, monitor sales performance and create business plans for our wider operations team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find the programme challenging as not all of the subject matter I find relevant to my current role or we do not have access to practice the skills learned in our workshops.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, the apprenticeship has allowed me to build upon existing knowledge of systems for data analytics like Excel and Tableau as well as pushing my experience out to using SQL and Power BI for data visualisation. It also has built on my knowledge of the methodology behind data analytics to build better reports in my role.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The progamme is very structured with a cloud system used to contain all of the activity details and a timeline of tasks to be completed so I can track my progress throughout the course easily. The workshops are structured well and it is easy to navigate the agenda of each event.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive adequate support from my employer, my manager does engage with the apprenticeship provider and does offer support but beyond that there is not much support within the rest of the organisation when it comes to answering my apprenticeship based questions specifically such as the data protection legislation we use.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We swapped development coach within a few months of the apprenticeship enrollment which has caused some issues with hand over and after providing feedback, this has improved. The quality of feedback could be improved and there needs to be a better way of quickly messaging your development coach rather than waiting for monthly catch ups or booking in half an hour meetings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think it helps me perform better by pushing me to use new data analytics tools to not only build up my portfolio but to help across the department, it also helps me to identify better ways of working which will help us as a company save money on flawed processes.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are some professional networking events to attend such as mental health seminars and inclusivity forums. E.ON often have charity events but most of these are office based so they are not outside of office hours.

Why?
I think as an apprenticeship provider, E.ON is a good company and are very supportive with flexible working and meeting expectations.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to E.ON UK?
As apprenticeship providers, they are very supportive and I was advise you to be yourself as E.ON pride themselves on having a diverse workforce.
