Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role requires me to complete a variety of tasks associated with project management, administration, commercial and finance. My day-to-day will see me create and manage contracts, resolve operational issues, manage projects, conduct lessons learnt, manage risks, and prepare reports for Senior Leaders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
My programme has been really helpful. The blend of attending university, engaging with new people, and learning theory helps me fulfil my job role responsibilities as I am more confident and skilled.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt and developed several key skills, such as communication, critical thinking and teamwork.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My programme within Kier was well structured. I did find at times that the University struggled with their scheduling, but that was down to my cohort being the first to complete it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I received a lot of support. This included my line manager, HR, and the early careers team. If I ever had a query I had someone to turn to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The university was really helpful and supportive. We had weekly lessons to attend, we had the opportunity to engage with lecturers, a huge range of support material, and frequent engagement with the course director.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Apart from the obvious knowledge I have gained, the qualification has supported me in handling pressure, deadlines, and expectations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a number of opportunities that individuals can be involved in. There are social networks you can sign up for, we have the opportunity to do two paid volunteering days, and for example, Kier have an initiative called Moving through May, there to get Kier staff moving and raising money for charity.
