Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a general manager for a Venture hotel. I deal with the hotel guests, run the kitchen and deal with the sales side and retail sides of the business. No day is the same with being a hotel general manager and you have to be good with customer service.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed doing my apprenticeship. I have learnt so much and have made friends in side my division, company and other stakeholders such as the Lifetime trainers.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt lots of new skills during my apprenticeship. It helped me develop as a general manager and gave me the tools to deal with anything that is thrown at me. I also developed previous skills learnt from my previous apprenticeship. I also learnt other management styles
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was very organised and the training days away were really helpful as it helped structure future learnings and helped us to catch up if we needed it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a lot of support from my employers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support from lifetime was amazing! The support was not only just there for my apprenticeship but with other things as well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the qualification has helped me become a better manager and a coach. This has also helped me grow as a person.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At site level we try to do social activities as a team which is difficult due to always covering the hotel. As an area we do social activities such as meals and going to the races.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
Just be yourself and talk about something that you are passionate about. Doesn't have to be work related. As long as you show the passion in something then it will rub off on the interviewer.
