Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role is mainly in supporting the work of the legal team here at WTW by working across the global team and internal client in negotiating, amending and drafting contracts. I also support the legal team in a wider sense when requested.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have very much enjoyed my time working at WTW so far. This is mainly because of the people. I have been put into a great team of other apprentices and have god relationships with and receive support from the GB legal team in particular, as well as the North American and global teams.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills since beginning my role. Firstly would be skills in negotiating, compromising and problem solving which are often needed when negotiating contracts and responding to external client requests. I have also improved both my written and oral communication skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say my programme has been well-organised , however there may have been some learning curves given this is the first time the legal team have taken on apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive very good support from my employer. My employer has given me a designated study day every week and always encourages us to solely study on that day. As well as being concerned with our progress and well being in our programme
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I also receive a good level of support from my training provider. We are given extensive preparation resources for our weekly workshops, tasks to apply our learning, a 2 hour workshop each week, formative and practice questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Despite the fact I may now apply many of the areas of law I am required to cover in my role, my programme has a focus on professional skills, many of which I have been able to implement in my role, such as drafting, written and oral communication.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I often do extra-curricular activities with my immediate team of 3 other apprentices. With the wider team, there are monthly meetings and often social events or team lunches or a loose monthly basis.

Why?
Generally the best thing are the people, everyone I have worked with and interacted with have been very friendly, supportive and willing to help.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Try to tailor your application and interview questions to the skills of the job, take an interest in the work WTW does and present how you can bring value if you were successful in getting a role.
