Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I get to work closely with the broking team while managing my own accounts from the original inception of a policy to the final invoicing. My interactions consist of networking with both Underwriters and Clients, as well as meeting co-workers from within the business and some who work in the overseas offices.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy the program, while it does come with its stress at times when you have to manage your exams, studies and work responsibilities, if you can organise your time well you can get lots out of the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my time managing and organisational skills. I have learnt new networking skills and have been given lots of opportunities to expand my network throughout the industry.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is organised fairly well, my apprenticeship provider provides an exam structure for the entire programme so that you can work according to a routine.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

WTW provides lots of support at the beginning by providing a induction week when you start. They also show you where to find support by putting you in touch with a buddy and a mentor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive workshop sessions for our exams, which cover the course material. we also get shown how to access pass papers and we are provided with a study plan.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think the qualification majorly helps me in my role as the content is applicable to the the industry and my day to day responsibilities
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are sports teams for those interested and we do charity events that can be signed up for. There are networking sessions that can be attended as well.
