Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I carry out routine maintenance tasks and also perform reactive maintenance where required, We start our day with our daily checks to ensure everything is working as it should and then we perform a multitude of different tasks throughtout the day. Most days are different which keeps us busy and keeps the work enjoyable.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It's great and keeps me busy and active, the work is generally enjoyable and we have many different tasks we can complete day to day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills whilst shadowing my engineering supervisor as he has alot of experience in the field. He has taught me many new skills related to the job and helped develop existing skills I had from my hobbies and previous experience.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Generally the organisation is good in my company but the college are quite unorganised when it comes to repeatedly changing dates with little notice and also lack of suitable classrooms as we seem to move every week and sometimes we don't have the facilities required.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is great in allowing me to complete any college work that may be required and allows for specific tasks to be documented in a more intensive way for my college work. They're quite flexible in allowing for different requirements whatever they may be
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider are generally great in what they provide it's just a shame they can't be more consistent in this as sometimes they lack communication and we sometimes aren't given the facilities we need however this has recently improved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Learning the theory behind what we are doing helps greatly in understanding what the job we are doing achieves and how we can better maintain machines, by learning how they work we can better work on them and diagnose any problems before they become major. The skills we learn are also great to know and improve upon when being taught by and experienced person.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Not really, we have an annual christmas meal and sometimes a team building day every once in a while .
