Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Analysing market trends and identifying target market sectors within a set territory. Prospecting and relationship building with new and existing clients. Creating a bespoke service to each individual account and pipeline management throughout their journey, ensuring several touch points are in place. Conducting myself according to the company's values, with honesty and integrity in everything I do and ensuring the customer's journey is nothing less than exceptional. Liaising with the Contracts Management team, remaining communicative and clear in new opportunities I have brought to the business. Working independently and within a team, ensuring positive and memorable interactions with all major stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I undertook the Level 4 Sales Executive Apprenticeship when starting with Bagnalls and I really enjoyed the learning element. The content was relevant, fun and easy to apply yourself to. Every aspect of the course then led to building my final portfolio of evidence for the assessment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I didn't have a background in Sales before joining Bagnalls and I have learnt so much.
I now have a much higher level of confidence in an industry that I had little/no experience in. Bagnalls and Apprentify helped me developed existing skills effectively to excel in my role.

The apprenticeship was very well structured and support was available 24/7.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My team were brilliant at helping support me through the latter stages of the apprenticeship and helped me with advice and industry relevant information that would apply to the assessment. I can not fault the help I received from my colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Apprentify were fantastic at providing support anytime I needed it. Regular check ins and mini-deadlines to keep me on track. I thoroughly appreciate the support I received.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I use the skills I learnt daily and I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to complete the Sales Executive Level 4. I feel it has really helped me break into a career I had little knowledge of and I am extremely happy to be putting the skills I learnt into my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have attended quite a few events since starting at Bagnalls 2 years ago. Excited to attend the 150th Bagnalls anniversary event in a few weeks time!

Why?
Working at Bagnalls feels incredibly personable. There’s little divide between senior management and operatives or office staff. The Managing Director knows everyone by name and often stops by to say hello. Everyone I’ve met- from Directors to Branch Managers to Operatives- has been genuinely kind and honest.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bagnalls?
Look into Bagnalls' Values and ethos. If you can see yourself working with a team of people that work their socks off everyday, work with integrity and honesty, put yourself out there and go for it. Be willing to learn something new and give it your all!
