Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Release / Deployment Management for NHS Supply Chain Account - High level view of all projects on the account - Co ordinating with PM's to ensure smooth releases with minimal disruption to Business Operations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I highly recommend the DXC Early Careers programme. From day one I have been pleasantly surprised with the focus and dedication to my wellbeing, for example within Early Careers there have been multiple sessions/calls/emails offering different avenues of support available. Along with guild events (quizzes / team meetups) that has boosted morale and allowed me to build relationships with others.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As this has been my first Job experience I have thoroughly developed my communication, confidence and time management skills (an example being chairing meetings). I have also had the chance to learn new skills using tools provided by DXC (DXC Learning / Udemy / LinkedIn Learning / ElevateU)

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
For myself, the programme spans 3 years (2 for apprentices / graduates) where there are lots of opportunities for training and development. This is highlighted in rotations, where there is the opportunity for apprentices to rotate to a different job role and gain further skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Both my managers have been extremely supportive throughout my time on the programme and always available for any queries/questions I have. Feedback is given in 1-1 meetings and also the Mid year and End of Year reviews
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from UCLan, again through feedback from the Module Lecturers or from the Apprentice Educators who hold check in meetings with myself and my DXC People Manager. This support is useful working towards my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The Degree is heavily linked to my Job Role, as the main objective is to apply learnings to my role and also give job based evidence towards my assignments. This is not something I have struggled with so far.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
As previously mentioned, there are monthly guild events for local workers, this often includes meeting up for social activities and professional networking events. Along with this there are plenty of extra-curricular (STEM) activities to get involved in, a recent one for me was attending and presenting in a National Apprentice Week session at Old Trafford
