Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves the handling of marine cargo insurance claims on multiple different accounts. This results in the day to day varying depending on which account has seen claims. For example , the confectionary company which i help handle may have a temperature deviation claim whilst another day could involve the handling of theft claims for a tech firm.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
For me this is definitely the best choice i could have made as i never wanted to go to uni as the debt didn't appeal to me. In addition to the money i have been able to earn, the industry which i am in is extremely social which means i have not missed out on any aspects of the social lifestyle which i may have got i i had chose to apply to university.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt new skills over my apprenticeship through networking and also on the job training. This has resulted in me gaining new skills such as the ability to understand how the London insurance market operates and how it has to remain compliant with the FCA laws put in place.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is extremely well structured as i am able to see my progress through all different stages of my career journey. This allows for me to have a clear scope of where i need to be at what times on top of doing my day job role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive unlimited support from my employer , firstly from others in my cohort who can help e with my exam and job in combination. But i also get so much support from my team and also my line manager who i all feel like they want to see me succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I would say the support from the training provider is really good however when it comes to proactiveness on the training providers end , this may lack . There is almost always a need for you to reach out if you are struggling which i know for a lot of people will be difficult.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel that it gives a very good understanding and background knowledge for my exam however for my specific role i think that my qualifications are not a necessity. This is reflected with no members of my team having the same qualifications which i am aiming to achieve.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are unlimited opportunities for me to get involved in different experiences and activities at work. This includes both social and insightful activities. This is echoed by being able to do tours of the historic Lloyd's building in London as an external activity.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe that WTW has one of , if not the best workplace cultures possible with everyone that i have spoke to being so nice - regardless of role or seniority. In addition to this the opportunities are also endless with having travel opportunities and also opportunities to meet incredible people in the industry.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
The best advice which i could give would be to be yourself and to carry as much personality as you can through the application process. This is because coming into WTW they are not expecting you to be an expert in insurance however they are looking for someone likeable and sociable who can conduct themselves well , be focused and get work done whilst learning.
