Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
On a daily basis I connect with internal and external stakeholders. I attend, organise and host meetings and connect with my team. I work on tasks based around the projects I am assisting my team on and consistently work to encourage my peers to act in a way which is sustainability conscious. I work collaboratively with those in my team and assist them on tasks required to develop our sustainability projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am thoroughly enjoying every aspect of my programme. I am pushed to work hard and strive for greatness, I am treated as an equal and given space for my ideas to be heard and I am trusted to work on important and new projects which is great for my development. My team and manager are constantly there to help me gain new and different experiences and they encourage me to use my passions towards the projects I work on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of new skills throughout this apprenticeship. Everyday is a learning day! I have continued to work on my facilitation skills, my communication skills and my leadership skills. Some new skills I have gained would be time management, events management and independence. I am pushed to work hard and my manager and mentor will check in on new skills id like to learn and advice me on how to put these into practice.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is structured very well. I work a 5 day week, with one of these days being my designated education day. This means I have a set structure and everyone I work with is aware that important meeting can not be on my education day as I am out of office. This structure helps me get the best results from my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer, not only from my manager and team, but from my designated mentor and my buddy. The apprentice team here are all very approachable and here should I need anything from them. Everyone works to facilitate my success as best as they can, this support motivates me to do well in my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My education provider works to my style of learning. I am very practical d independent so I am given the space to complete tasks and reach out for support when I need to. They have worked with my manager to ensure I am hitting all my targets and have supported me should I raise any concerns.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The learning I am doing has proved to be very useful in my role. I have found that the knowledge I have gained from my education has made tasks easier as I understand the reason I am doing the task and how it links to the business. I have found the learning is aiding me in my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I volunteer for an Employee Resource Group and enjoy attending apprentice social activities and volunteering days. I find these help with my development and allow me to develop skills that may not directly align with my role. It has also allowed me to increase my network and make connections with people that work in different areas of the business.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The support here is impeccable. I have had advice given that was invaluable and I will take through many different career ventures. The network for apprentices is great and they are available for you to reach out to if you need it. My Manager works with me constantly to help me succeed and I feel very grateful for the opportunity to do this apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
Be Friendly and positive, you will develop any skills you need in the workplace but your passion, drive and positive attitude is what will help you soar once you're here. I also would recommend communicating with those around you and building your support network.
