Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a part of the global homecare packaging team, and sit within the creative team. That means I support my team in concept creation, concept visualisation and product storytelling.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my program, everyone is very supportive when it comes to my development and time management with university. I get to be very creative and do such a broad range of things.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have progressed in soft and hard skills. Such as team work, collaboration but also adobe suite skills and sketching. I have learnt brand new skills in more of the tech space, and learning to use the equipment we have.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme at work is really strong, I get constant support from mentors but also regular catch ups with fellow apprentices. The structure of the university program could be a lot better but I get a lot of support from my team in working around those challenges.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get a lot of support. We meet a couple times a week to discuss my work and workload. But they are always there if i need support throughout the day. I have a couple of mentors who are always threes to answer any questions of give any support i feel i need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I get support from the staff at my training provider, but i feel this doesn't compare to the support i get from my team at work. We are left to our own devices sometimes with slow response from staff. But when we are in person, they are very supportive and there to help whenever we need.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There has been only a few modules over the past couple of years which has helped me in my role. There isn't much crossover as i have to force the link between university and work. However, some modules have been great in progressing my knowledge within my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are loads of extra-curricular activities at work, like netball, football, crafts and just general chats. It is a very warm and welcoming place to work as everyone is very sociable and keen to network.

Why?
It is a very warm and welcoming place to work where your development is encouraged my senior members. It is great to work for a big company/team which has such a breadth of experience which is shared. You get to work on big projects which you will see in real life, which really accelerates your enthusiasm for your work!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Just be yourself, be happy and cheerful and show yourself off! Show skills of team work and collaboration but also be confident in yourself.
