Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Some of my day-to-day activities include: updating the forecast for all brands, working with the marketing teams, analysing financial data, using excel spreadsheets, presenting financial data to others in a meeting, using, working with brand managers to showcase their monthly spending and to make sure all the budget provided to each brand is spent by the end of the year.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Overall, I enjoy this program. 4 months in, I am now more confident and have learnt a lot from senior professionals within the business. Also, this program turned out to be what I expected, all the tasks I am given are up to the standard and I am able to share the experience with other apprentices who are in a similar journey as I am.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Some new skills I have learnt are: using excel and navigating around the spreadsheet, presenting financial data to others, communicating with others within the office, organisation skills for example keeping a to do list and I have learnt to be more independent as I am now able to keep track of the tasks which I need to do and this ensures everything is submitted on time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My program is well structured and organised because all the task that I am given have been progressing with time and as time goes on I will b given more difficult tasks to ensure I grow overtime. Also, my training provider has also been ensuring that I get exams and attend lessons whiles also working.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Overall, I have received a lot of helped from those within my organisation. For example every month we have a progress review where we go through how well I have progressed in the month and if there are any improvement which need to be made. Also, if we have any concerns we are able to speak to Futurecareer's who ensure our journey with them is going well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider ensures I have all the resources needed for completing/ studying towards my qualification. I have monthly reviews with my Talent Coach who is someone I can go to if I need any help and they aim to ensure I am on target by completing of the job hours and studying to pass exams.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
By studying towards this qualification I gained a greater insight into many financial terms and I have a greater understanding of the role of businesses as I have covered this within a module during my studies. Also, the qualification ensures I have wider knowledge outside of the firm as we should also know how competitors behave within the market.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many extra-curricular activities involved at work for example we had a drop in or join online Yoga session where we were able to take some time off work and relax as well as connecting with others. Also, we also get the chance to attend many events for example Christmas parties, Halloween competitions and product launches.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There are many opportunities once you start working with the firm and whilst you work here you are able to grow and expand ensuring you are not restricted within the company. Also, you get to work with professionals who are able to teach you many life skills once at work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
A tip I would give is that make sure to do research about the company before you apply, because employers love it when you have extra knowledge about the firm and it shows that you are serious about the role. Also, make sure you understand the role you are applying for and have done your research as research is very important when applying for any role.
