Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I support a team of field reps and help to manage relationships with delivery partners and restaurant customers to deliver increased sales volume
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme a lot. This apprenticeship scheme gives you what you put into it, if you work very hard you get rewarded with good, high-value experiences.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt more commercial skills than I knew were possible, and developed presenting and communication skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is a well organized programme - you have a line manager and a contact at the university.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
As an apprentice you are very supported. You can take 1 day per week as a university day and they are very understanding of your time constraints.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The university does offer some support, however universities work on slower reply times than is the norm in a corporate environment, which means you feel more supported by the employer than the training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
There will always be a disparity between academic work and the practical applications, but the course is relevant to my role and aids my performance somewhat.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes. There is a football group and some networking opportunites.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great opportunity to develop skills and behaviours. Unilever is brilliant at rewarding hard work with more opportunities, so you really do get what you give with a Unilever apprenticeship scheme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Focus on showing your reasoning, problem-solving and proactive nature. Hard skills can always be taught, it is much harder to teach behaviours.
