Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In my day-to-day role, I handle a variety of responsibilities. I prepare briefs for agencies to guide various marketing tasks and attend meetings where we analyze current campaigns and identify areas for improvement for future initiatives.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the responsibility and the people. The office is great, and everyone has been very welcoming. The work is fast-paced and never boring, which keeps it interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have learned some basic skills, such as email etiquette, as well as the processes involved in various marketing tasks, like producing an advertisement. Additionally, I have gained experience in coordinating cross-functional global teams to achieve common goals.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I have a clear layout about my university courses / modules, and also on how i could potentially develop past the apprentiship stage within the business
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is plenty of support. They are very understanding of their apprentices, as there are many of us. They allow me to take time off when it comes to university deadlines, and they are also very understanding when it comes to picking up new skills and perhaps not being as sharp since I am new.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
They are helpful and arrange meetings with my manager and me to discuss progress. They are also very responsive to emails.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
As I'm only at the beginning, I'm at a very basic level for my qualification. However, I can already see some principles coming together, like the 4Ps, for instance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are many social activities, there is a gym in the office, there is also a yearly charity football match, there is also plenty of charity fundraising as a team for the various brands

Yes
Why?
I enjoy my job because it offers a fun environment with a good balance of responsibility. The company is well-established, and everyone is understanding of my role as an apprentice. My colleagues are very welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
To prepare for joining Unilever and for the discovery centres, I suggest gaining a basic understanding of marketing principles beforehand.
