Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

So as a Kitchen Assistant I help prepare daily meals for students, following recipes fully, serve at the tills as well as set up counters ready for break and lunch times. Making sure all areas of the kitchen is clean and tidy and then at the end of the day close kitchen down. Provide good quality food to all students with nutrition value and providimg excellent customer service at all times.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

As I'm still new to the program it's very interesting and I'm am very keen to gain more knowledge and skills throughout the whole program and develop more experiences. Learning on job is a plus as well as it teaches me all that I need to know.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

So I have now been placed on the Hot grab N Go section which manually involves cooking meals from recipes, making sure temperatures are hot and noted. Making sure that the brand standards are met.

Seems very well organized and structured. Everything is in placed and instructions are easy to following.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

From my experience I have received support in different aspects. I have received a lot of support during my apprenticeship programme were the company believes that I can achieve what I would like from the qualifications.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Excellent!! I've had nothing but support from my provider. They are always there if I need a question answered or if I am struggling to understand anything on the system that we use, they always reply straight away.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that it will give me more insight, knowledge and develop the right set of skills that I need to perform to the level that is required within my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not that I am aware of other than I know that we open for parent evening days or open events to for admissions.

Good company to work for, Food quality is amazing. Support is given when needed, training is also provided if not had previous experience.

Be open and honest. If there is nothing you know or understand ask them for support and provide training if necessary. Just be yourself.
