Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Have rotations in the marketing, sales and customer excellence teams within the aviation division. I have worked on a plethora of projects from organising 2025 merchandise to project management for our digital delivery strategy.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
As it is a new apprenticeship program, there have been time it has been unstructured and I've had to work hard to speak up about the problems. However, that is not the case with the majority of apprenticeships in bp. Many long running apprentice programs have a better structure. However, i've learnt so much so far.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
So many new skills, not just easily visible skills such as excel and project management. But also soft skills like communication and also understanding how to present myself professionally in a business landscape.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
As mentioned previously, not very structured due to it being a new apprenticeship. BP's early careers division needs to take better care in ensuring a clear structure is made for each scheme before people on board. It leaves team members scrambling to find something for the new apprentices to do. This is not the case for the majority of well-established programs, such as the HR apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There's so much support around, it's very much on a team by team basis. Everyone is very positive and I have weekly catch ups with my line manager, and have clear avenues to address conerns with the early careers teams.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As an online training provider, it's not the same face-to-face support as you would traditionally get. However, they are very quick to respond to any concerns or problems I may face either on a call or by email.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification (business management) covers a plethora of different areas. So there are some that are more in line with my role and there are some that are less so.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Me and a few apprentices play 5-a-side football after work. We have an early careers committee that orgainse networking events, socials and a summer and winter ball.
