Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I have worked at the Banking Team this week and gained many useful skills and insights. The team and the staff are all very helpful, friendly and approachable and offered me assistance whenever I needed it. I have also attended lots of workshops and Talks which expanded my horizon and helped me to develop my commercial awareness skills. Valuable experience!

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Undertaking my Vacation Scheme at Shoosmiths has enabled me to develop my commercial awareness and many other useful transferable skills. The experience strengtened my ambition and determination to embark on a career in the legal sector.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Excellent and truly exceptional! Everyone was extremley kind, approachable and helpful. The firm does not have a hierarchical ethos and everyone is being treated on an equal basis. Great importance is placed on employee welfare. Shoosmiths has a real understanading that everyone is different and unique and each has their own individual qualities and personalities which should all be embarced and valued by the firm.
Feeling valued by the firm is of critical importance to me and I genuinely hope I would be able to work for the firm in the near future.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I truly enjoyed all the networking events, the workshops and a vareity of Insight Talks held by the firm which allowed me to develop my commercial awareness an other soft skills.
