Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Conduct root cause analysis exercise to help solve problems.
Take engineering responsibility at the tired accountability meetings feeding back any escalations for support.
Deliver continuous improvement projects that improve the OEE of the production lines.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, the fact I was given increasing responsibility throughout the year allowed me to stretch myself further and develop and improve more. If I was not given all of the opportunities I don’t think I would have got as much spout of my placement as I did.

If I wanted support I had it available to me. I often had to be proactive and seek the support but when I reach out there was plenty of it.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have had a great placement, met many really amazing people. From a professional point of view I have had a great experience of what engineering in industry is all about and hope to return to GSK in the future.
