Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I help manage SEO optimisation and updating Amazon brand stores for Unilever brands. On a day to day basis this involves reaching out to google, mindshare, and brands to ensure tasks are completed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme as I feel it has enabled me to learn and develop so much; whenever I said I would like to gain a skill in a certain area, my line managers have been supportive in helping me gain experience in the role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed technical skills related to CRM execution and SEO/Amazon. I have also developed professional soft skills such as time management and communication with key stakeholders, project management and more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I would say overall it is well structured, however communication could be improved from a future careers standpoint, particularly regarding rotations.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a great amount of support from my employer, I know where I need to go if I am facing challenges in the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
My training provider (LSBU) is overall good, however often communication or admin slips which makes it more difficult. The teaching is also not always high quality.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel what 90% of what I know about my role and digital marketing has come from the workplace, rather than my training provider. I feel that very little of what I learn at University benefits me in the workplace; the exception being modules that cover Excel or data training.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have had so much support from my managers and have been given the opportunity to purse lots of different areas of the team based on what I said I would like to gain experience in. I have been able to learn so much and the professional environment is healthy and fun to work in.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
I would suggest that they do research on company values as they are such an integral part of unilever, and if they do get a role to advocate for their interests as if they make what they are passionate about known, they are likely to get the opportunity to gain experience there.
