Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
working in the consumer market insight apprentice managing stakeholder relationships between a brand team and an external research agency to deliver innovation and comms research studies and recommendations to then be used in the marketing funnel, studying project management and managing a budget
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
- i loved that i got a qualification out of it
- i loved that i got full job experience from it
- i did feel as if i didnt get a huge amount of support in terms of training and instead had to learn on the job which took time despite it being beneficial
- i was able to grow my network which was great in helping my career
- i thought i applied to marketing but then ended up working in consumer market insight which to me is research

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
- budget management
- business acumen
- administration skills
- consumer market research insight understanding
- stakeholder management
- project management understanding

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
- very structured from a qualification point of view in terms of scheduling study days, days for exams and lecture days
- i think my qualification side of things had poor support from my college in terms of aiding my academic development
- i knew what days i worked and what i worked on, what days i had to come in, what times i worked, how much i was paid etc but believe i ended up taking on a lot more then should be expected from an apprentice to complete
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
- the adhoc catch ups really helped and made actionable outcomes but could have been more often
- i did know who to reach out to if i did need help
- i think the support could of gone further eg with business training provided to know more of what it was id be getting into
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
- a lot in terms of the provision of material but it often was in depth enough in terms of content
- i was often confronted whenever seeking support on topics as there was an assumption that i should pick it up quickly. so i found it difficult to acquire supprot
- the adhoc catch ups helped in terms of being able to go into things i was struggling on but they could have been more often and less structured to enable more personal conversation
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
- a lot in terms of the marketing side of my role however my role isnt specifically marketing despite coming under it, it is research
- id say it helps in terms of building business acumen
- it is helpful whenever i manage a piece of research as there's lots of overlap but was often very in depth vs what actually happened in real life
- it helped provide a very broad spring board in terms of capability whenever looking into career opportunities
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
yes for sure but i didnt have time or energy to attend them or they always occurred on days when i wasnt in the office or had plans. some that i was able to go to which i enjoyed was networking events, launch events, the 100ve v kingston charity football match, halloween quiz event with cocktail making and also being a part of a development team meant i got to get up to different things outside my work eg managing an IP facebook chat
