Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Extracting data from reporting sources to fill out daily board meetings to report on how the manufacturing lines in my area have ran over the past 24hrs.
Attending machine breakdowns with shift engineers, providing support.
Ordering parts for breakdowns and improvements.
Receiving 'tag' reports of faults on the line, fixing and implementing improvements for faults.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt basic engineering skills, fitting, machining, welding, electrical install at the start of the apprenticeship in college. These have then been developed in the workplace further, by using and expanding knowledge and skills to attend breakdowns and implement improvements.
i have developed a better critical engineering mindset to assist with attending breakdowns, using methodical thinking on how to fix breakdowns and what improvements would prevent the breakdowns from happening again.
inter-people skills have been improved by dealing with co-workers across different teams and shift patterns, liaising with contractors to organise engineering works, and presenting at school careers fairs and talks.
