Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Currently I work as a data analyst, working with Social media, search and review data to provide insights to business partners in the homecare category. I will find and analyse the data using various tools and then create PowerPoint decks turning the data into actionable insights for various business partners.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy my programme a fair bit and definitely enjoy the people I work with however tasks become quite manual and boring every now and then, but such is the nature of data analytics.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have learnt many new skills including data analysis skills using a variety of tools, visual powerpoint skills, presentation skills when presenting the findings, Microsoft excel skills and many other general skills related to working in an office environment

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The worst part of the programme is when anything is needed form the careers team as they take very long to respond and are not very efficient when they do.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My manager and team are great in supporting me with Uni work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
We met with Pearsons one time to support on our end point assessment and they were fairly useless. Whoever at Pearsons made the criteria for the course did not consider how we would actually achieve the criteria and haven't provided much clarity since.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
It somewhat helps with the role but I learn far more at work than I do at University
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yess, there are teams dedicated wellbeing and extra curricular activities. There are large networks of other apprentices, sports teams and social activities

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because the company ethos is friendly and great place to work for a young person just starting their career. They allowed me to rotate across the business to learn different skills in different sides of the business
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Unsure
