How well organised/structured is your programme?

BAE systems has amazing organisation and structure with support being offered at any difficulty and treatment being that of a full time employee with ample time to complete university work throughout the week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive support in my time management with any necessary time off for university work being awarded without question, as well as HR support in any workplace or university related concerns I may have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The university is lacking in support with various aspects of the course being "looked over" when considerations are being made to the nature of the employed position.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The degree course is in Digital Technology Solutions which only specialises in software engineering half way through the course. There are other business aspects which are covered but for my day role, currently the course isn't entirely relevant.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, depending on the placement throughout the year there are social events the company pays for.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The level of exposure to real world work is unparalleled by other software engineering apprenticeships around. I am treated like a true colleague and pushed to challenge myself but never feel like I am being pressured to do work I am not at a satisfactory stage in my development to complete. The things I have learned whilst here have taught me more than I believe I would've learned through a degree, and the company pays for my university tuition as well as receiving a living wage.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Make sure you are an undergraduate student that has real world applications of your software engineering skills. The software engineering course is looking for people that are actively interested in software based problems, so if you have any real world applications of software development, it shows your natural passion for problem solving.
