Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Laboratory Technician, I sample and test materials. We take samples of different sized Granite ranging from 0/4mm up to sizes of 63mm and above. We dry this out, wash off the silt and then dry this out again. This is then filtered through sieves giving a result that we apply to our spreadsheet.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I couldn't have asked for a better position. Surrounded by some of the nicest people I have met and always enjoying what I am doing, even when it is out of my comfort zone.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my team bonding skills and how to work together. This achieves a much better environment, both the teams morale and efficiency. On the flip side, I have also developed my lone working skills. I can get stuff done at a good pace and also at a good standard, this is achieved with focus.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Regarding different events, some can easily be missed out and you seem to not attend so many of these events. Apart from that, the programme is structured to a high standard.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Once again, could not ask for a better employer. So much support, if I am ever in need, I know I can always go to them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
It is more if you require help, you would have to contact them first but they are relatively easy to get hold of and get support from. The support is good also.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I am not sure that it helps much when performing better in my role. Getting experience through time spent working is the best way. The qualification does open your eyes to sections of the role that you don't always see on a day-to-day.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We are treated to some social events which are really good, they help bring the team together and have some fun outside of work. This is really good as it can bring people out of their shells and get everyone to get to know each other.
