Given different tasks relating to my current placement and enhancing the knowledge skills and behaviours relating to my degree in Digital Technology Solutions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

There is a lot to learn and balance but if everything remains on track it is an enjoyable experience where you will make friends with other apprentices and people in your placement and help network into your future career.

Have developed programming and general team working skills. Have also gained new presentation skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

We have 1 day of University per week with bookend every 3 months where we spend a week of study. This format works well as it allows us to get involved in our placement while still giving us enough time to continue out studies to the expected level for our degree.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Within our placements our placement managers will have frequent catch ups to see our progress on given tasks and make sure that we are completing tasks that are relevant for our final degree. We will then have reviews every 3 months where we speak with our university, line manager and placement manager to assess progress and see if any additional support is needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our university is very supportive with our module lead and skills coaches being available to answer any questions and help us with our in lesson work or give us advice and feedback on assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

This qualification will help me understand the knowledge skills and behaviours involved in this career and is something I can actively apply to my current roles and roles I will have in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is a range of events we can be involved in, with frequent social events which can include meals, going to see shows or sporting events. There are also stretch opportunities which allow apprentices to go and talk to schools or institutions about our apprenticeship and help earn about BAE.

Why?
The people working there are always happy to help and explain anything you do not understand as there can be a lot of terminology and processes which can be hard to grasp early on but it only takes a few months to understand them.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
The applications process may seem a little daunting with a lot of hoops to jump through, but once you're approved it all feels worth it as there are lots of people to support you who have a range of backgrounds and a great wealth of knowledge that they will be happy to share with you.
