Women in Business Spring Insight Week Review

During this Spring Insight Week, me and my colleagues were able to listen to insightful presentations from employees of different divisions. We could also participate in hands-on sessions to learn more about how the Global Data and the Analytics&Sales departments work, as well as having an overview of how the Bloomberg Terminal works by having direct access.
We also worked in teams to develop a presentation about a specific industry, that was delivered on the last day.

Thanks to panels, we had a great range of presentations about the company's culture, what their work consists of on a daily basis and what they think are the most valuable aspects of their job. All pannelists answered to as many questions as possible very thoroughfully, which helped to go in great depth into various aspects of the business.

I have definitely learnt some technical skills regarding accessing, collecting and delivery data. Through various public speaking sessions, I could receive some feedback on public speaking and how I deliver my presentation and speeches, which was extremely useful for my last big project presentation.

Generally speaking, while attending events in companies within the financial services (such as funds or investment banks) it can happen that the atmosphere can be very tense and competitive. This is not the case with Bloomberg. Everyone is extremely collaborative and supportive, as well as laid-back and cheerful. I have never experienced such an up-lifting and enthusiastic workforce.

Now that the insight week as ended, I wish we had another week! Of course it has been very intensive and the learning curve was steep, but it was highly-enjoyable and challenging in a good way. It was useful to learn more about the company and financial services in general. I met very inspirational people with great curiosity like me, who were interactive and open to discussion. The overall organization of time was very well planned.
