Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In the first year it was basic training and comprehension of what the business does, behaviours expected, a multitude of different workshops, a level 2 starting education and Knowledge questions to ensure you knew what you were doing. In the years after you move around the business as a whole.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It is enjoyable for more that one reason, 1) you get to socialise with fellow apprentices and make friends you will work with for years to come, 2) you don't have to stress about finding a job after the qualification as you will likely be offered one by the company

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Absolutely, despite having done a level 3 qualification at college, this is more based around what you will actually be doing allowing you to apply your learning while working, which certainly improved skills i had before as i could put them into effective and meaningful practice.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The first year is very structured moving workshop roughly every 2 months while doing college work on one of the days, the years after first you get more freedom as you are more treated as an employee with responsibilities rather than a student.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
You can get support for pretty much everything you can imagine, from mental health support 24/7 to financial support and budgeting, the company really does show they care for you and have your best interests at heart.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Around the clock if you needed support from a skills coach/ teacher they are always available to help you just need to ask.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps as you can really apply what you learn, when learning about certain things on a college day it will help you on workshop or vice versa.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of things to take part in, i haven't done it much as i tend to be busy but i know if i wanted to i could find something fairly easy such as a quiz night.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have already recommended it to friends as if you want to progress and have a good career, all you have to do is work for it to the best of your ability because it will get seen and appreciated rather then used.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
You have to be willing to put in a lot of time especially in the first year as it is quite demanding, time management is very important and so is your attitude, but if you can do that I don't see you finding anything as rewarding as this.
