Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Engineering-based office work pertaining to aircraft, training, et cetera.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme, usually finding the most enjoyment when on placement but this varies depending on what my job role at the time is.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have gained skills in software such as the Atlassian toolset, have improved my communication skills, improved my practical skills and problem-solving skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I would say it is well organised and structured for the most part. There are relatively minor occasional hiccups, e.g. requesting a placement and not receiving any word back.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive an adequate amount of support from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider is my employer and the assistance offered is acceptable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel like the two aren't very much related; there are some times when my qualification offers help with performance in my job role but I'd say this isn't usually the case. Most skills are honed during placements.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Probably.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good work/life balance, decent pay for an apprentice, adequate support, good managers. I've had nothing but positive experiences with anybody I have worked with or for during my time at BAE Systems.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
My first recommendation would be to complete the Jira & Confluence fundamentals courses on Atlassian University (free and short!). These tools are used often in the business, and some understanding of these tools prior to applying would be an immediate and relevant bonus in your CV when compared to other candidates.
