Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
The First year involved solely learning in college at IPS international, the second year involved mixed college days and work placements at BAE itself to give you a range of job role examples, the third year involved actually selecting a placement you like and working for them full time doing other apprentice activities alongside including HNC every monday if you signed up for it.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme has been very enjoyable, but has had its ups and downs.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
You develop skills that are general to electrical engineering but also gain specific skills that are specific to job roles you participate in.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is well structured and always improving, there are always areas that you find could use improvement but the coordinators are very helpful to get them laminated out.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Support can vary, they do try to be as helpful as possible but it doesn't always amount to actually helping.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
You can get a lot of aid when working towards your qualifications but it can get a lot tougher once you start your third year and it can seem a bit lacklustre at times.1
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Without a lot of the learning i have undergone for my role i wouldn't be able to perform as well because i wouldn't have a grasp of a lot of the basic electronic principles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are lots of events and activities that you can participate in, however they aren't really pushed upon you or put out to be known so it is best to ask about.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The pay is good for the work and the education is helpful at gaining the qualifications and skills for roles later on.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Keep an open mind because thing change regularly, often times "improvements" are put in place but are dropped due to them not working and there is a lot of back and forth trying to make the experience great for everyone.
