Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
in my first year so i have been doing hands on skills and then knowledge questions and work reports based on the practical work i have done, these have included bench fitting, mechanical engineering, business improvement and electrical engineering so things change based on the section and day depending on what work needs doing
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
i really enjoy the programme all of the instructors are very knowledgeable and everyone gets along really well with them and all activities have been interesting and fun, people on the course have also been very nice and everyone is very open to making friends with people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
yes i have developed my hand skills from what i already knew by doing bench fitting working with a large range of materials, i have gained new knowledge of how different engines work and have stripped them down, i have done presentations and investigations within the workplace and have done lots of electrical work along with standard knowledge like health and safety and regulation knowledge

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
i think that in the beginning it took a while to pick up as there were some common issues like communication and the whereabouts of certain things however once everyone got stuck in with activities and the course started running it was lots better organised
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
i think if i needed support with anything that i would be able to access it easily however i have not had any big issues so far so only have the support from smaller things which so far has been really well provided
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
i think the support that i receive when working towards the qualification is very good, all instructors are very informative while also letting us figure out certain parts for ourselves only intervening to add important parts or give us further knowledge. i think the support has been excellent and very helpfull
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
i think that by doing all of the activities that we do have been very helpful in allowing us to perform better in the role especially by doing both practical and written activities in the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there is field gun which is an activity that can be joined, you can become part of the outreach team and help with things like recruitment and interviews, there are sports and other activities that can be joined.
