To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying my programme and the range of projects I am able to work on, however, I do find the organisation of the apprenticeship is lacking and the feedback and communication with the university is poor.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt the theory of project management and how to put theory into practice in an business environment and within live projects. I have also learnt how to organise and execute a project.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I believe the apprenticeship could be better organised, especially in the arrangement of placements and the university structure (in-person/ online). It often feels like the university and early careers do not listen to apprentices feedback and are unwilling to change/ adapt the course to suit the apprentices needs.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have access to a wide range of support resources both digitally and in-person.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Conversations are taken regularly with early careers to ensure that all the necessary support is available for the qualification. However, communication between early careers and the university seems lapse based on the fact both early careers and the university are not updated on on issues raised by students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

my training, provider through the university, has helped me understand the basics and theories of project management, providing a foundation of knowledge that I can implement in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is opportunities to attend a range of extra-curricular activities including stretch projects (projects outside your main role that you can volunteer in), STEM activities and networking events (including networking events specifically targeted at women in STEM)

Whilst the apprenticeship is by no means perfect the business fully supports its employees and assists them. BAE Systems has a vast range of opportunities that you can pursue and you can build a career custom to your skills.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
BAE Systems is a massive business with lots of different departments, there is many niche areas that a career can be developed in and the business encourages individuals to pursue new opportunities. BAE Systems does not just work in the defence domain and creates products for a range of sectors so you shouldn't take the company at face value.
