Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I worked within the analytics team, running analysis on data (E.g survey data, well-being data, workplace data) and providing reports to leadership.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given some responsibility but only when others had no capacity or didn’t want to do the job. Our job put us in front of leadership often so a lot of the time the team wanted face time with the board so they would take the good projects. Sometimes I was required to do the work while they went into the meetings.

I have learnt new technological skills, working on platforms that I would’ve otherwise never been exposed to. Also brushed up on my reporting skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a lot of support from my line manager in regards to career development and what I wanted to get out of my placement. The future careers team didn’t provide me much support.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is great however there were FTE cuts while I was there and Unilever weren’t great at letting people know who was getting cut. There we’re 7 months where they announced they were cutting jobs but waited to say who. Apart from that everyone was friendly and nice. A lot of frautstation was observed towards upper management.
