Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently spending 3 months in each department in the building to learn and understand each role in the development/process of metering for National Grid / off and on shore wind farms etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My colleagues are helpful, kind and always ask how I'm doing/getting on so far. great environment and attitude for learning. I find great joy in coming to work and excitement to learn a new skill.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed social/confidence/computer skills greatly. Learnt how to follow building diagrams to create a panel/disconnect unit, general wiring module and more. Also learnt testing and problem routing

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is a matrix development by my manager for each department stating the order I join the department, the extent of what I need to cover, in said department, for the apprenticeship and how long ill be working there for.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Always receive constant feedback and support on how to complete assignments, jobs, documentation
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

1 day a week release and a student email. can ask for support when needed
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Learning about electrical engineering and the many factors within at the college and then coming to work and discussing with colleagues on how to apply it in real life
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Some colleagues go to different sports clubs on the weekend. There is many events/meetings provided by siemens as a whole to get involved in.

Create a CV that stands out from the rest with experience and qualifications on the role your applying for. Go into the interview with confidence and be determined to answer all questions to the best of your ability, if you dot know a question work through what they are asking and do you know anything that relates
