Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Involved in the project management for the Dreadnought SSBN Submarine Programme.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the on the job part of the programme and enjoy working in such an important business however I sometimes find the University side of the apprenticeship more difficult.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed competencies against my apprenticeship standard such as stakeholder engagement and leadership as well as some personal and professional development in the workplace.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised and structured.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Learner Progress Reviews every 11-12 weeks with dedicated skills coaches as well as regular check ins with skills coaches, project management functional leads and line managers in placement.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We have a personal academic tutor that we can contact however this is quite minimal.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The academic world doesn't relate hugely to the professional setting of BAE however some of the knowledge is transferable. This is difficult to map as the two settings are very different although I feel BAE and UOC try to bridge this gap as much as possible.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Social activities with my team as well as stretch activities to help personal and professional development.
