Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work alongside more experienced engineers day to day, my apprenticeship includes 5 'placements' In different areas of the business, I also study for my HNC level qualification for a full day once a week and on my own time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme a lot, it is a great opportunity

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to work in an office environment as well as expanded my skills working on a site.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The placements are fairly well organised however myself and the other apprentices are not happy with the level of education or support we receive from the HNC educators.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive support when requested, a meeting can be scheduled or it could be sorted over email, I am happy with all of my line managers and my apprentice manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
A very poor amount of support even when specifically requested, The lessons are online which is very disappointing and makes it much harder to learn, the website 'Canvas' is hard and confusing to navigate. I think the HNC needs a big rethink
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think it gives a better understanding in Design, science and maths, however the level of education is not ideal.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am a registered STEM member
