Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As an engineering technician, I provide technical support and guidance within the aeronautical engineering environment. This consists of data analysis, compiling reports and supporting live aircraft on the flight line.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Mostly. however the in-house further education element could be better managed. The NVQ/placement side however is fantastic and there are some really exciting and unique opportunities available.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, constantly. On a daily basis I am learning new skills and developing my professional competence.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Could definitely be better. Frequent mid-term line manager changes with no clear understanding of who is actually in charge and no point of contact.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
A good amount of support is provided however I sometimes feel that this could be improved.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
A good amount of support is provided however I sometimes feel that this could be improved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Reasonably, although I feel most skills are learnt and developed on the job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, a good amount of activities however I am often unable to attend due to money struggles. The lower pay makes it difficult for people with mortgages etc.
