Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I fabricate loads of specific items daily and am always making sure to check along the way. Frequently there will be written work to complete as well as a fair amount of examination to ensure I understand the certain topics.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme, because I get to meet loads of new people, make friends and learn plenty whilst reasonably having fun. I also enjoy how I get to strengthen my skills as it helps with my self confidence.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt loads of new skills like welding, grinding and filing. This apprenticeship has helped to develop my maths skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme can sometimes have gaps in it, sometimes not giving us a clearer direction of what lies ahead in the future or if there are any changes in the process.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I always receive plenty of support from my employer, feeling cared about and listened to every step of the way.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive great amounts of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications and always feel competent enough when it comes to examination.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The training is always relevant towards the role I will be fulfilling at the end of the apprenticeship and it is frequently done enough to be able to better those skills required.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are a few extra curricular activities outside of work like STEM team, social gatherings and meetings and certain clubs.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it is such a great opportunity especially if you don't really know what you want to do as a full time career path. The experience gained is invaluable and an excellent usage of resources and time.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
I would say always try your hardest and that no question is a stupid question. The whole point of doing an apprenticeship is to learn. I would also get to know as many people as possible, as you will feel a lot more confident and it will open up more opportunity for support wherever necessary.
