Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Attending meetings, working on numerous campaigns/projects with my team. Having 1:1'sAs well as going for networking lunches with other colleagues in my department and apprentices.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really love my programme. Everyone is really friendly and I could not of chosen a better way to start my career.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Using software and tech, graphic design, corporate language and networking have been my main 4 skills I have been able to learn and develop at Unilever.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very organised. There is clear communication not only between the Future Careers team and apprentices, but also between my HR contact and my training provider.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. My team recognise I take 1 day a week to study, and also cater my projects to my interests and to what is required to pass through my course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

As previously mentioned, my projects align with my learning projects and topics, and also understands when I have exams and knows that I may need revision time in the day to focus.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My training provider does help me with my role and have given me a very helpful tutor who has looked after me and taught me many skills for my career. My only negative is that the training provider itself aren't able to take into account that some companies work differently to others, causing some clashes with other people in the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is many extra curricular activities at Unilever. This includes things such as being able to join extra-curricular teams for apprentices. With these extra curriculars, I was able to do things such as become a sub-lead and lead a team of apprentices and grads whilst creating social media content for my team. I also was able to join a planning committee for a LGBTQIA Pride Party in the Summer.

Why?
The work environment is really welcoming and warm compared to what I have heard about other companies. Unilever looks after their apprentices and does everything they can to ensure we have a smooth and enjoyable learning journey.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Networking is so important! The business teaches us from our induction day onwards how important it is to network. They help us develop this skill by holding networking events for apprentices and giving plenty opportunities to grow on LinkedIn and staying active.
