Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
1ST year is classroom based work, working towards potential cat A certificates.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
it has been fun, very hard in some places but overall good.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, i have learnt about aircraft maintenance on civilian jets

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme itself looks initially well put together but when you progress through the first year, more management issues come apparent. the training materials given are unsuitable to learn from, and many issues arrive just from our cohort.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
the overall welfare support is good, they like to force it upon you but they're quite good. they don't help with normal day to day issues like exams and notes being unsuitable.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
we get class tutors to help us through each module but toward the qualification (NVQ) we have had nothing
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
not really, the first year is made for a civilian role when we are working on MOD property
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
we have Outward bound and maybe a base visit.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because they are a job, jobs are work, work is life.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
make sure you read the contract. Read the listing before you apply. Come in with the grindset and get the modules smashed out. management are not the best so have a it-is-what-it-s mindset.
