Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The work varies due to placement rotation, however my current work involves Fault Location, Product Support and Technical Data completion
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I find my enjoyment varies with each day, due to the wide variety of activities. Overall, I enjoy the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed Fault Finding skills, a Quality First mindset, greater understanding of electronic components and how they affect the operation of a unit and how to manage time and workload.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The overall structure is good, however when tasks, key points within the programme and activities are presented, they are not well structured
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Support is good due to the wide variety of employee resources and individuals available
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
The training provider (IPS International) requires significant improvements in learner support and communication with my employer. Support is there on occasion, however it is often confusing or poor
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I believe that some topics through the provider have been helpful, however some units have not been reflective of our on-site work. The units that do, have increased my skills and knowledge and I am better at my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are activities available, however I do not attend these.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall, the working environment on-site is good and informative. Some aspects could use refinement, however the company as a whole is good to work for. However the training provider must be reconsidered before I would make a recommendation
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be ambitious, ask as many questions as possible, follow what the placement individuals say and do and put in as much effort as possible.
