Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I undertook typical trainee tasks at the firm in two practice areas: banking and PRM (people, rewards and mobility). Throughout the week, there were organised socials so that we could meet and interact with our colleagues, and frequent Microsoft teams catch-ups. There were also two well-structured webinars/q&a sessions about the firm's training contract and diversity and inclusion.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the business and the potential roles available. The graduate recruitment team clearly explained the recruitment process, and I further understood the legal landscape of which Dentons is a part.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I had the opportunity to develop my contractual knowledge relating to banking loan agreements. I also learnt about the employment tribunal process and was able to develop my research skills in this area.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight and vacation scheme as a whole. The structure meant that there was time to ask questions and learn in a calm and friendly environment.
