Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a mechanical fitter I react to breakdowns and complete planned maintenance. I am responsible for my safety and others around me and I need to communicate with my peers and managers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the challenges that come with the job and the college work, the college could try to be more organised as this would make it easier on learners.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned and developed many new skills including my ability to problem solve and some mechanical principles.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Whilst at work it is very organised and there is always a structure to where and what you will be doing. At college there some structure but the organisation could be better.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer is very supportive during the time in my apprenticeship, they always offer help if needed and dedicate time if I am struggling with my college work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
They try to support you where they can but they struggle to maintain staff so this proves difficult, because of the struggle for staff I often get a change in teacher which makes it more difficult to keep track of everything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Some of the subjects in my qualification do translate to my role for example the mechanical principles lectures do give me a deeper understanding to what I'm fixing. Others feel like they are unnecessary and feel like they do not translate.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are extra-curricular activities I don't know of all of them but recently there has been go-karting and bowling.
