Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves rotating round different section and learning the processes and how to do the work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme as i get to go around the different sections and learn as much as i can. People i work with are also extremely nice so i can take my time learning things i struggle with and ask to do something different if i'm not comfortable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of stuff i never would have any where else, stuff to do with engineering itself and the workplace and how much apprentices do to help work improve.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well structure to have people rotate through different areas with enough time to learn in their sections. They also allow you to meet other people with different job roles and other groups of apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I recieve a lot of support from everyone at work. People in my building are always willing to help and my boss always responds when i need help and shows me who the specialist is to ask.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is very supportive with listening with any issues i have with college or work and if she can't help me herself, then she will contact a lecturer or support person to help as well and check to see if they have helped.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think its good to have the information for if i want to improve more or change my role at work. It also helps to just have a better understanding of how and why things work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of volunteering events in and out of campus. There are also teams that work on different tasks including the residential, or organising school events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend GE Aerospace to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The apprenticeship is really good as it provides support and encourages leaning. It also pays well and is good work experience for your CV.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
Be ready to wake up early and know your CV of the top of your head as during interviews they might ask questions. If you've been told to read something for the interview then do it and think of senarios you've been in that relate to the thing you've read. I'd recommend doing A-levels even for a level 3 as it means you have more knowledge for the apprentiship and are older so you aren't limited in terms of travel or where you live.
