Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
in my role as an apprentice, I complete work given to me by my placement manager as well as collect evidence that meets the apprenticeship standard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It depends on the placement that I am in. I have had a mixed bag when it comes to my placements in terms of enjoyment, I can't lie. As a whole it has been very good and the early careers network where i am is very supportive and a lot have become friends of mine, but sometimes as we do placements, I feel like I am often on the edge of departments which isn't the best feeling. The work quality does very much vary from placement to placement.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have not just developed my technical knowledge but also have developed my presentation skills, my confidence has improved massively over my apprenticeship and I feel thay my communication skills have also improved.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think the program is pretty well organised. I think it has improved massively from when I started and there is a lot more structure and focus on the KSBs which I think is a positive.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
From the team that looks after me for my apprenticeship I feel very supported and they always want us to be honest if we are not happy with something as they want us to have a postivie experience. I also find the early careers culture with each other to be very supportive and open and has become a crucial element to my support network. In terms of placements, the support has varied.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider and the people who look after that part of my apprenticeship have been really supportive and I can't really complain about them at all.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it has helped me to improve my skills to prepare for my role at a later date.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At Siemens we have an early careers employee network which is there to help give early careers across the business the oportunity to network, learn about different parts of the business and build a nice community there. We do various differenet events to help develop our skills and meet new people across the business.

Yes
Why?
In general, where I am based, the work culture is nice and the benefits on top are good. You also get discount to the cinema which isn't bad.
