Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The first day of the scheme consisted of various talks, ranging from an introduction delivered by a partner to more interactive 'Inside the Headlines' talks. In addition, we got the chance to participate in an interactive ADR exercise, having a go at mediation and negotiation. The second day involved talks from the pro bono team and another case study, as well as the chance to shadow a trainee for the afternoon.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

The graduate recruitment team delivered an excellent presentation on the range of opportunities available, which helped to make it really clear what potential roles are available.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained a much better understanding of areas of commercial law I previously had little familiarity with, such as TMT. In addition, I have developed my negotiation skills through the interactive workshop.

Company Culture

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Compared to similar commercial firms, I found the atmosphere at HSF the most welcoming and friendly. I also felt like they had a genuine commitment to Diversity and Equality - which made the culture feel very inclusive.
